Whirlpool moved its filters to the EveryDrop brand, numbered simply Filter 1 through Filter 6. It is the clearest naming system of any manufacturer — and because Whirlpool also owns Maytag, KitchenAid and JennAir, the same filters cover all four brands.

Why the numbering helps
Unlike Samsung or LG, you do not need a long alphanumeric code. Your fridge takes Filter 1, 2, 3 and so on, and the number is usually printed inside the compartment beside the filter housing. It is the one brand where checking takes seconds.
One filter, four brands
If you own a Maytag, KitchenAid or JennAir fridge, you are looking for EveryDrop filters — not brand-specific ones. Searching “Maytag water filter” will find results, but the genuine part is EveryDrop.
